History of Shekinah Temple Evangelical Ministries

The ministry was proclaimed by God in a cottage prayer meeting, through an unknown tongue, interpreted by Sis. R.B. DuBose in 1982. During this noonday prayer, Sis. Betty Lester, Sis. Diane Lay, along with Sis. DuBose understood there was to be a new ministry, a new way, a new walk and new wonders.
As disciples of old, prayers continued day and night seeking God’s guidance. In the beginning of 1983, God started forming His new ministry - Evangelistic Ministries.
Ministers Rosa Bell DuBose, Janie Aker and Diane Lay conducted cottage prayer services, street and revival services in various South and North Carolina locations.
Prayers continued, financial donations were given, church furniture was purchased and finally, God provided the first permanent building on Hwy. 93, in Norris, SC, beside Rollins Carpet Store. With hard work and determination, God’s House came together.
During the summer of 1983, God gave Pastor, Apostle R.B. DuBose a new name for the ministry. This non-denominational, multicultural ministry was chartered by the State of South Carolina as Shekinah Temple Evangelical Ministries of Norris, South Carolina.
The first meeting was held at the home of Bro. William and Minister Janie Acker, under a cherry tree. In its infancy, Shekinah consisted of approximately eight members.
The DuBose, Acker, and Lay families were the first laborers in this vineyard. However, through the witnessing and testimonies of the first families, God added many more to the church.
In due time, God provided twelve acres of land and a new worship center was erected in the Five Forks Community of Liberty, South Carolina. (7833 Moorefield Memorial Hwy. – Hwy. #178.) For twenty-three years, under the guidance of Apostle R.B. DuBose, the ministry grew stronger. In 2000, Apostle DuBose’s daughter, Minister Angel Bash was elevated to a pastoral apprenticeship. Then, in April 2006, she was installed as Pastor of Shekinah Temple Evangelical Ministries.

On November 22, 2016, after a period of illness, our precious Overseer, Apostle Rosa Bell DuBose transitioned to her eternal home.
Now STEM is still on a steady course, walking in the will of God, actively pursuing the goals to minister to the total man. Under Pastor Angel's anointed, powerful leadership, STEM is continuing to move forward to meet the challenges of the Twenty-First Century and the ultimate will of God. It is the place where God is our Father, Jesus is our Savior, the Holy Ghost is our guide and everybody is somebody! We are commissioned to be a
lighthouse to a lost and dark world.
